Starting her career in Medicine in 1998, Roula Hourani finished her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Medicine and residency in Radiology at the Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon. She completed her Fellowship in Neuroradiology in Pitie-Salpétriere Hospital, Paris, France, and post graduated Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland, USA.
She started working as faculty at the American University of Beirut Medical Center since 2004.
She is currently an Associate Professor at the AUBMC.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Roula Hourani is a prolific academic author, with over 50 publications in some of the top tier journals such as the American Journal of Neuroradiology, as well as chapters in books, abstracts, and international presentations. Her research interests in neuroimaging are wide, ranging between epilepsy, autism as well as functional brain development.
