Maurice Khoury, MD, is a graduate of The American University of Beirut Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre(A.U.B.M.C.). He pursued a Fellowship in Cardiology/Electrophysiology at Guy’s and Maidstone Hospitals in The United Kingdom.
Dr. Khoury has been practicing since 1994, at A.U.B.M.C. where he holds the position of Director of Electrocardiography Department and Electrophysiology services. .Since 1995 He started on an endeavor of proctoring, performing first-of-kind procedures in many hospitals across the Lebanon (I.C.D./C.R.T.D.).His activity soon expanded to the region performing cases and initiating cardiac arrhythmias programs, in Iran, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and China..
Dr .Khoury received the Distinguished Service Award from the Lebanese Society of Cardiology in recognition and appreciation of service to cardiac Electrophysiology in Lebanon .He received another Award in recognition of his outstanding performance, Leadership in Electrophysiology throughout the Middle East. He is a holder of Merit Award for career Excellence in Teaching from the American University of Beirut. He was elected Fellow of The Royal College of Medicine (London).
He is a member of the editorial board of Heart Rhythm Case Reports Journal. A Founding member of European Cardiac Arrhythmias Society.(ECAS).Founding member of Belt and Road Academic forum on Arrhythmia. Faculty member of the International Symposium on Progress in Clinical Pacing . Member of the clinical Event Committee for the study entitled: Leadless Observational Study ( Nanostim Study for a Leadless Cardiac Pacemaker System).He is a member of European Society of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He has more than 40 papers on Electrophysiology and arrhythmias in internationally renowned journals.
