James A. DiNardo, M.D., FAAP
Dr. DiNardo was one of a core group responsible for establishment of the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society a subspecialty group devoted entirely to clinical care, education, and research in the area of pediatric cardiac anesthesia. He is a Past-President of that organization. He has held editorial positions in a number of international specialty journals as a representative of the pediatric cardiac anesthesia community and currently serves as Executive Editor of Pediatric Anesthesia for Anesthesia and Analgesia, the most widely read anesthesiology journal in the United States. His textbook Anesthesia for Cardiac Surgery, now in its 3rd edition is used both nationally and internationally as part of the core cardiac anesthesia (adult and pediatric) curriculum for resident and fellows. The book is used extensively in the United States, India and China and has been translated into Turkish. The recently published The Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Handbook expands on the pediatric cardiac anesthesia material published in this textbook. He served as the Chairman of the Peri-Operative Transesophageal Echocardiography Exam Writing Committee. He has been committed to both the written and oral Board Examination process for Anesthesiology for over 20 years and has held leadership positions involving the construction and administration of both the written and oral examinations. He is currently a member of ABA Pediatric Anesthesiology Board Certification Examination Committee and the Chair of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia (MOCA) Minute Exam Committee. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
