Dr. Ghassan Kanazi received his MD from American University of Beirut in 1984. Following graduation, he did his residency training in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Management at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland Ohio.
Dr. Kanazi was Co-Director of the Pain Treatment Center at the University of Nebraska and Chief of Anesthesiology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Nebraska from 1990-1995.
Afterwards he joined the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Rochester, in Rochester NY as Associate Professor in anesthesiology and Director of Pain Treatment Center.
Dr. Kanazi returned to Lebanon in 2001 and joined the Department of Anesthesiology at the American University of Beirut. He was appointed chair of Anesthesiology in October 1, 2007, and served for eight years. He is currently Chief of Pain Division and professor of Anesthesiology at the Department of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Kanazi is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
He is also American Board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain medicine and critical care medicine.
