ICRC - Lebanon
Christophe Martin is the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Beirut since July 2017. Mr Martin is an experienced ICRC employee. He joined it in 1993 and has accumulated a diverse profile over the years. He began his journey as a delegate, and then moved to become a communication representative. Afterwards, he hooked himself on the management path by heading several delegation in various corners of the world like Banja Luka, Kampala, Brazzaville, Lima and Dakar leading the ICRC mission – Protecting the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflicts and other situation of violence-. Mr Martin also served at the headquarters as the Deputy Head of Operations, the Deputy Director of Operations and Head of the Multilateral Affairs before returning to the field.
Before joining the ICRC Mr Martin was a professor at at l’École Professionelle de Lausanne (EPSIC) – 1990 – 1992.
Mr Martin is a holder of a Masters in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Relations (IUHEI) in Geneva.
