Dr. Alamiri completed her general psychiatry and subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals. She is Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Alamiri also successfully accomplished the Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. She holds memberships at several professional societies including the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
She successfully designed and founded Almanara in 2012, the only dedicated center for child and adolescent mental health in Kuwait, where she is currently practicing. Dr. Alamiri established and inaugurated Kuwait Board of Psychiatry in 2012 where she previously served as the program director. Dr. Alamiri has vast experience in system management and she was recently appointed the chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Kuwait Center for Mental Health.
Dr. Alamiri is also an Epidemiologist with research interest in the interface between neurodevelopment and psychiatry. She obtained the Doctorate of Science degree in Psychiatric Epidemiology from T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health.
