Angela Massouh received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from the American University of Beirut. Her area of focus for the past 13 years was on Cardiology and Heart Failure. After working for 5 years as a registered nurse in the Coronary Care Unit at AUB Medical Center, she later joined AUB’s School of Nursing (HSON) in 2009 as a clinical instructor. In 2011, she started a joint appointment as a clinical instructor at HSON and a Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist at AUBMC. In her role as a Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist, she co-led AUBMC’s Heart Failure Multidisciplinary Program as well as the Heart Failure Community Outreach Program. In 2017, she graduated with a PhD in Nursing from the University of Colorado, Denver. Her research focus is heart failure symptom management and self-care. Her dissertation research, which later won the 2017 Distinguished PhD Dissertation Award, examined determinants of self-care in a sample of Lebanese patients with Heart Failure.
