Dr. Ibrahim graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School University of Pisa, Italy in 2004. He did several clinical fellowships in Lebanon in 2004-2005. He completed six years of residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at AUBMC (2006-2012). In the States, he then completed one-year fellowship in burn surgery at Harvard – Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Burn Hospital for Children (2012-2013) followed by another fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (2013-2014). Then he turned back to his home country to join the Plastic Surgery Division at the American University of Beirut Medical Center as an Assistant Professor and he is currently the Associate Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency and training program.
His field of expertise is acute and reconstructive burn surgery, microsurgery for complex reconstruction and breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery and robotic plastic surgery. Dr. Ibrahim has authored/co-authored more than 40 publications in peer reviewed journals and has several ongoing basic research and clinical studies.
Dr. Ibrahim is active member of International societies of Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery and Burns. He is ex Board member and treasurer of the Lebanese Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is currently the General Secretary of the Lebanese Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
